These screens will allow you to reserve a computer at any library in Essex. The computers concerned give access to the internet (including e-mail) and can also be used for services such as word-processing and spreadsheets. The service is free, so all you need to make a booking is an Essex Libraries membership card. The service is normally restricted to one hour per user per day for pre-bookable machines, although this may be extended under some circumstances; this is solely at the discretion of the library staff on duty at the time.

How to get started

To make a booking, begin by entering your ELAN card number and password in the boxes on the left. You can scan or type your number, but do not leave any spaces if you type it in. Unless it has been altered, your password will be your date of birth in the format ddmmyy. You will need to ask a member of staff to check your password if you are having difficulties. Once you have entered your card number and password, click on the 'Login' button.

Please note that people with temporary membership numbers can no longer book a session. Please take your registration number to your local library and exchange it for a library membership card.

Late take-up of booking.

Please note that you must take up your booking within 10 minutes of your appointed time or the booking will be cancelled to allow other customers to use the machine.
